Having lived on Maui and California for the last 20 years, Frenchman Yann Quilfen is back to his roots in his native Brittany near "La Torche". Joining the Exocet team, he becomes a key player in the SUP and Windsurf Research and Development.

Almost 20 years ago, I left France to live a childhood dream on the island of Maui, Hawaii, where I stayed for close to 11 years. I then moved to San Diego, California, for 9 years to not only pursue a Master's Degree in Oriental Medicine because, but also gain experience practicing in a sports medicine clinic, where I learned to administer orthopedic treatments and prescribe herbal formulas. I believe alternative medicine will be playing an important role in our society in the very near future and today I am back to open my clinic and help guide others towards a healthy lifestyle.

My passion for windsurf, surf, and SUP lead me to meet the greatest shapers on Maui as well as in California, hence my experience in this field. Being a waterman is essential in my life, so I always try to spend an hour or two on the water, either on my windsurf board, short board or Stand Up Paddle board.

Patrice Belbeoch has always been one of my heroes in windsurf since my beginnings in the sport. I am excited in the collaboration and look forward to bring all my experience to develop boards that will not only put a smile on anyone who will set foot on them, but also provide a great product that will allow any surfer to be taken beyond their limits.
